Saie Beauty Glowy Super Gel in Roseglow Is My No-Makeup Makeup Hack This Summer

The Roseglow shade was introduced to me last month, and I instantly noticed a subtle tint of pink outside of the slightly frosted glass bottle. I, of course, swatched pump worth onto my hand and blended it with my fingertips. The rosy yet slightly golden shade extension still contains the same, beloved gel-based formula that adds a touch of that ever-wanting, summertime golden hour reflection–which Saie Beauty founder and CEO Laney Crowell revealed was a huge inspiration for the Roseglow shade extension.

After applying my facial sunscreen, I reached for Roseglow in the morning, dabbing a pea’s-worth onto my cheekbones and bridge of my nose. I found Roseglow, compared to the champagne and golden-bronze shades that came before, the middle sister, best suited for my brown, olive-toned skin.

Even though I like my skin-care and makeup routines simple, I prefer to keep my complexion products and illuminators separate. Combined, they can look too greasy or oily when mixed in a two-in-one formula. A huge reason why I grab this tube on the daily, adding a touch of dewiness to only the areas I want to shine. Plus, this gel prides itself on its skin care-makeup hybrid ingredients that blend a dose of hydration and flush of color that won’t disrupt even the most sensitive skin types—or look greasy. Sunglow (a golden bronze) is a must-have for me during winter when my olive-toned skin needs a picker-upper and some golden undertones. During the summer, I’ll add a touch on top of my bronzer and eyelids for a golden glow. But for someone with a lighter complexion, Starglow (champagne) would be a great dewy addition. While Roseglow, compared to the champagne and golden-bronze shades that came before, looks neutral on my olive-toned complexion, I found that this shade, along with Starglow, works nicely on lighter complexions. Sunglow, on the other hand, is my secret for when I want to add a bit of bronze to my skin in the winter, and what I would suggest for darker complexions looking for a touch of color and a whole lot of glow.

Because I’m not a full-coverage, matte girl, I prefer to prime my skin with an illuminating base. And since Glowy Super Gel’s formula is water-based, I don’t have to worry about creasing or flaking after the product dries down, even in the peak of summer when the AC is cranking everywhere I go.
