1. Plan Ahead and Pack Exercise Clothes.

Be prepared and pack a few pieces of exercise clothing. Choose lightweight pieces that are easy to wash in a sink and dry quickly. Today’s athletic wear is so beautiful that you can often wear them for more than just working out. A basic lightweight workout shirt can also double as a comfortable top to pop on with shorts or pants. Save room in your suitcase by wearing your running shoes while traveling, and if you still need to save space, try putting your clothes in vacuum-sealed packing cubes.

2. Schedule Your Workouts.

A daily workout on vacation is an excellent way to increase your energy and boost your spirits so you’ll be ready to take on all the fun activities you have planned. Set yourself up for success by scheduling workouts in with your travel fun. If you make time for a few workouts and commit to them, you’ll have a smooth return to your usual fitness routine.

3. Keep It Moving On Travel Day!

Even on your travel day, it’s important to keep moving. In the airport, resist the temptation of the moving walkways and choose to walk on the pathways. Opt for the stairs instead of elevators whenever possible. These small choices can make a big difference in staying active during your travels.

4. Make It A Family Affair.

Get active with your family members by doing a fun workout together. Depending on your vacation destination, you can arrange a family hike, a walk on the beach, beach volleyball, a bike ride, or head to an area park for a walk/run/jog.

5. Stay Hydrated!

It’s always a good idea to keep a water bottle with you so that you can stay refreshed while you’re out and about. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely stroll in the city, going on a fun excursion, hitting the trails for a hike or bike ride, or simply relaxing at the beach, staying hydrated is super important. By keeping yourself properly hydrated, you can help avoid issues like constipation, heartburn, headaches, and those pesky aches and pains. Plus, it’s a great way to look after your overall health and ensure that you’re feeling your best.

6. Healthy Eating On The Go!

Incorporating healthy eating into your diet while traveling doesn’t have to be complicated. When eating out be mindful of portion sizes. Share a meal or try one or two small appetizers. Start each meal with a delicious salad. Make sure to include a green vegetable with every meal. Green vegetables are high in fiber and nutrients, low in calories, and can help you feel full. When you’re on the go, grabbing a refreshing cold-pressed juice is a perfect way to help satisfy your daily vegetable intake. Don’t forget to pack some healthy snacks in your bag or purse. For example, a handful of walnuts with an apple, a bag of carrots, an orange, or a small bag (1/4 cup) of almonds are all great pack-and-go snacks.

7. Your Body Is A Gym.

Use your travel time as an opportunity to boost your cardio with demanding circuits and tone your body with bodyweight exercises. By adopting the mindset of ‘No gym, no problem,’ you can effectively maintain your fitness level anywhere.
